The two pictures below show the new extensions to our balcony. We are constantly working to improve Cockatoo Cottage to make your stay even more enjoyable. Please scroll down to view even more features of our B&B.

Cockatoo Cottage is a traditional Bed & Breakfast offering old fashioned hospitality for adults in a relaxed country style atmosphere. The home is a federation / country design with covered bullnose verandahs on all sides making for pleasant outdoor living.

We offer 3 queen-sized bedrooms decorated in old world charm with brass beds and furniture restored by the owners. One room also includes a king size single bed.

All rooms have ensuites. They have all been built with recycled materials and have been designed entirely by your hosts. As you can see in the ensuite at right, the handbasin is made out of an old Singer sewing machine!

Electric blankets, ceiling fans and clock-radios are in each room. The main bathroom has a bath for those who would prefer to soak after a busy day taking in the sights of Sussex Inlet or partaking in the various water sports the area has to offer.

This is another of the three queen-sized bedrooms we have to offer. What better way to spend the night?

The guest lounge/dining room has a slow combustion heater for those chilly nights, and is air-conditioned as well. It opens out onto the verandah where you can enjoy breakfast or a quiet drink while watching the parrots and kangaroos feeding. Possums visit nightly also.

All rooms have ensuites and their own access to the verandahs where smoking is allowed. Coffee/tea making facilities and bar fridge for your personal refreshments are available. Also TV and DVD player, stereo, books and games for your enjoyment, along with complimentary port, chocolates and homemade cakes on your arrival or after dinner.

A generous country-style breakfast is provided either in the dining room, or if weather permits, on the verandahs. There is a microwave in the guest dining room as well as a fridge, jug, etc.

We also have BBQ facilities available if you prefer.

The Cocky Cage

The Cocky Cage is a self-contained, air-conditioned cabin in a garden setting which comprises a separate bathroom (with bath), kitchen, bedroom (queen size bed), and lounge (with a sofa-bed). It is rustic in design and most furnishings have been restored/made by John and Vicki.

The cabin is well equipped with all the basic needs; crockery, linen, fridge, stove, microwave, TV and DVD player, and washing machine. Up to 2 children can be accommodated if they share sleeping on the sofa-bed.
