Cockatoo Cottage B&B is set on 8 acres of selectively cleared bushland with abundant animal and birdlife.

We are located close to the "island township" of Sussex Inlet which has earned a reputation for excellence in surfing, fishing, prawning, boating, bushwalking, golfing or just plain lazing around.

There are a number of wineries close by where you can sample some award winning wines.

The many canals and creeks that branch off the Inlet can be used for a safe, refreshing swim and, of course, there are always the unspoilt beaches for surfing and sunbathing.

Cudmirrah and Berrara are popular surfing beaches in the area. The vast waterways of St Georges Basin are also accessed from the Sussex Inlet river and Swan Lake is close by which is popular for waterskiing, jet skis and sailing.

Next door to Cockatoo Cottage is the local golf course which has many major events year round. The course is well known for its kangaroos and birdlife sharing your game.

The township of Sussex Inlet has a shopping centre offering cafes, supermarket, restaurants, cinema and licensed clubs for dining and entertainment. Boat and canoe hire is also available for fishing or cruising along the riverways. A pickup and dropoff service is provided by the Sussex Inlet RSL club for those who want to have a few drinks and not have to drive.

Cockatoo Cottage is also the home of Victoria's Bears - delightful handmade artist bears.
